This chapter describes a pilot programme, the Innovation Lab, which was run for academics and students leading education innovation projects at the University of Exeter.
The 10 week programme ran in spring 2021 with the aim of supporting project teams to use service design approaches for improving students’ learning experience at the university.
Th chapter will enquire into: What are the advantages and challenges of a programme for students and academics leading innovation projects? How is service design received by students and academics in a higher education setting? What lessons are there in wider literature that could be applied in an HE setting? What recommendations do we have for others wanting to use service design to support education innovation in universities?
